Verified Reviewer |I was literally ROBBED by this hotel
- - Balcony room not provided; moved to non-balcony room.
- - AC failed after 3-5 minutes; maintenance arrived late; desk refused balcony refund.
They're no longer answering my emails. My bank dispute is still in "research" phase.
We checked in and went to our room and started unpacking. The living room area carpet was specked with detritus as if it hadn't been vacuumed, one of the balcony chairs was broken and the AC unit worked for about 3-5 minutes and shut down. I tried to use the room phone to call the front desk, but it just said the mailbox was full. I googled the front desk number and told the woman that the ac and chair were broken.
She said she'd send maintenance up. That was about 6:15. At 7 I called back and was told maintenance was at another facility and was on his way. At 730 I called and she said 2 maintenance workers were coming.
The room was hot! We opened the balcony door to let in a breeze. Finally shortly after 8, 2 maintenance men arrived. They said they'd get to work and we went out on the balcony, I told them to let me know what's going on.
Around 830, we watched them leave the room. One came back up and said we were being moved. He handed me new keys for 2 rooms down and told me "Make sure to take the other keys to the front desk. FIRST example of TERRIBLE customer service.
We repacked our things and moved. We got into the new room and there was no balcony. They didn't tell us, but let us discover it on our own.I went to the desk and said" The new room doesn't have a balcony". She looked me in the face and said" yep"
I told her I paid for a balcony room.
She shrugged and said "Don't have any". I was thunderstruck by her flippant attitude. I said I understood, but wanted to be refunded for the amenity I didn't get. She said she can't, refused to call anyone who could and told me to call customer relations.
I did, I spoke to Alexis No one helped me Saturday, no housekeeping Saturday, they didn't set our key cards for Saturday. Housekeeping never came by.
Upon checkout, the manager was combative and rude when I asked for compensation. Customer relations has yet to contact me as of 05/01.

Verified Reviewer |A night at Best Western in...
- - Stayed at Best Western in Duchene, UT on 07/02–07/03/2026.
- - Military discount unavailable for the 4th of July weekend; the clerk apologized.
Spent a night at Best Western in Duchene, Utah, 07/02/2026, and checked out 07/03/2026. I asked for a military discount and was told it was not available for the 4th of July weekend.
I told the clerk, who said she was sorry that policy was a slap in the face to me and all Veterans who made the 4th of July remembrance and freedoms we have possible; Again, she apologized. This is between Best Western and I, untill I hear from you.
I have not given a review on social media as of yet, but an unsatisfactory response will determine my review, good or bad!! Please do not respond with another slap in the face with a disrespectful response, please.

Verified ReviewerResolved: Supports companies that rip you off and no one there cares!
- - Room safety issues: no safe first room; later safe but HVAC failed.
- - Refunds limited; police threat and bank disputes.
Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with full refund. Regional manager offered me a full refund.
I asked for an apology and she agreed but I told her that she was nit the one I wanted it from. I wanted it from that general manager. She did not think that would happen. I did not want to make her do that.
She also explained that trying to put someone into 4 different rooms was not policy. Therefore, I feel vindicated...see dont be a doubter. Be persistent.
They said they did have some rooms with them, and we said we would require one. We arrived at the hotel, and after them putting a $100.00 hold on my credit card, they showed us to our room. The first room did not have a safe. I let Brandy (housekeeping/front-end staff, by her admission) show us to another room.
The next room did have a safe, but the A/C and heater were not working. An employee told me he would be surprised if they passed inspection to continue to be open since they did not replace fire alarms. I did not get his name. I then let them take me to a third room that did not have a safe.
By this point, I was frustrated. Brandy then said that they did NOT have a fourth room ready. This statement and fact alone should have voided the contract. I mean, if I would not have shown up, they would have been entitled to my entire payment.
They do not want to be accountable when I show up at 1601 and mess around going to three rooms, then ask me to wait for a fourth to become ready. They should have had no problem giving me a refund. I went to the front desk and said this is *** *** and I want my money back. The general manager informed me that I was not allowed to swear.
I informed her of my First Amendment rights since I was not being derogatory with her or her employees. She then told me to leave the property, or she would get me for trespassing. I let her know that I was not trespassing since they had my money and agreed to a reservation. She then told me in the presence of a front desk employee named 'Patrick' that they would refund my money in full if I would leave, but I had to call Priceline for the refund.
I went outside and spent 35 minutes on hold. In the meantime, a manager sent out 'Brandy' to try and calm me down. I was even more upset over this issue. She then informed me that the general manager ('Manda') had now decided to only pay me half of my money back.
I went back inside to see why. She then told me that she would give me a free night if I kept my reservation and took the new room that they now had cleaned (after the fact). I let her know that I was not going to stay somewhere that I was being threatened with police action over their inability to have my room ready. I then said I would be writing negative reviews after this experience, and she again threatened to call the police.
I let her know I was doing nothing wrong, so she could call at her leisure. 'Patrick' then asked me if I would like the free night and the room. 'Manda' informed him that this 'deal' was now off the table and that they were charging me 50 percent and I was not allowed to stay there. I had to find another room, so this also cost me more money.
I had to pay an additional $842.94 for four nights, which I have the receipt for if needed. I left as to not cause any further scene and figured I would file a dispute with my bank. I called the bank to the hotel several times. The first time the phone rang at least 20 times before someone answered the phone.
I believe it was Brandy, but I am not sure. She gave me the manager's name, which turned out to be Manda. I then asked her for the general manager, and she gave me an incorrect name and number. I called back later to make sure I had the correct information.
Patrick at the front desk hung up on me. I know this because when I called back he answered, and I informed him I would just call back and not to hang up again or he would just be answering repeat calls. I asked if Manda was a manager or the general manager, and he informed me that she is the general manager. I then ended the phone call.
I called my bank and filed a dispute for the $338.40 (half of the four nights charges). My bank informed me that there was also another amount and asked if I would like to dispute that. I said no and that I would call back the hotel and find out if they intended to charge me the $100.00 hold they put on my card for incidentals or if they planned on refunding that amount. Patrick informed me that they would not be charging me and that the amount should fall on my card in a few days.
This calling the hotel occurred on 9/5/2025. Later that same day, I received a call from Officer Cardenas, incident number 25-02****. This was for me harassing the hotel. I am not sure who filed the report, but if I had to guess it was the general manager.
I explained my position and what had occurred. He then informed me that they could not press charges if I was merely calling to gather information regarding this civil issue and not frivolously. I told him I had all the information they would give me as they refused to give out the owner or partner's information, whichever it may be. On Sept.
8th, I began our way back to a hotel in Blackhawk. These events stressed me out. I cut this hotel stay short and returned home on 9/9/2025. It also affected how much money I had that I was willing to part with.
This also influenced my decision. I then returned home and found that my credit card had been charged $147.52. I called all affiliated companies to include Armed Forces Travel, Priceline (who had sent me a survey on 9/7/2025 asking how my stay had been like they never canceled the reservation), and Best Western, who sponsors them. All of these companies, while affiliated to some degree, refused to offer any assistance.
I then left a message for Officer Cardenas to call me back on 9/12 and called my bank and disputed the charge of $147.52, and there was another pending charge for $47.52 that I could not dispute until it cleared (it actually fell off today after I called the hotel based on Officer Cardenas' information on 9/16/2025). I tried on 9/16/2025 to file a police report as well. The officer informed me that this was a civil matter and that he could not file charges. I then called to try and talk to an attorney.
I called Lucero Law at 970-765-****. The lady who I talked to said that she thought that even if I did not have a case, the officer is required to file a police report. I then called back Officer Cardenas and told him I had reviewed the Colorado theft statute and that since the money was taken without my knowledge and that the money has value, it would normally be a petty theft charge. I also informed him that the statute states that if this happens to a disabled person (which I am), then this could be a felony charge.
The officer said he did not agree through his interpretation. Is this not up to a prosecutor to decide and not an officer? Officer Cardenas did state that the phone calls are recorded and that me calling would generate an incident number, but he still did not feel that this was theft. I said that I agreed with the initial charge of $338.40 being a civil matter, but that the $147.52 was a different matter.
The officer was still unmoved. I then asked for the new incident number, and he told me #25-02****. He said that I would have to try and find out why they charged me again. I informed him that I was not notified and that they had no reason to charge me again, let alone the first time.
I also informed him they may call him again since they already filed one bogus report. He informed me he would just tell them this was civil and there is nothing more he is willing to do. I called the hotel, and the front desk lady (did not get her name) said the general manager was in training for the day. I let her know to have her reach out to me, preferably through email or text, so I have time and date stamps about why I was charged again.
It was not long after this call that the third charge for $47.52 fell off my pending charges to my credit card. I guess I am wanting to receive my $348.30 from the hotel since they did not have a room ready that I requested ahead of time. The policy with Priceline states they are entitled to all of my money if I do not show up or do not cancel, but neither of these were the case. Without the room being ready, there is not a contractual clause that I have seen that gives them a right to hold half of my money, let alone charge me again out of what I feel was purely spite.
These police officers and the current systems give these individuals all the power once they have your funds. With the way the internet is and all of these affiliated companies not willing to lift a finger, all the consumer has is you, the BBB, DOI, and reviews.
This is all helpful but puts so much stress on an individual that I don't know why more regulation is not in place. The normal person does not have the time or resources to combat things like this, so the businesses just take free money.

Verified ReviewerVery uncomfortable stay, bedbugs, *** maintenance, man, scared for my life.
Found bugs in my room, left with bumps on my legs and itching. A *** maintenance worker was peeking through my peek without knocking or anything.
I caught him doing it to others down the hall with my own eyes, and when confronted, he denied it even though I saw him with my own eyes! My kids and I were so creeped out by this guy that we had to miss dinner because we were terrified! Worst stay ever, and we travel very often.

- - Message about Best Western in Niceville, FL went unanswered and viewed as poor etiquette.
- - I will forward the email to corporate and the BBB.
Hopefully they don't go through what we went through. It was embarrassing and being s paid guest and treated like we were under watch was very sad especially when we visited every month for almost a year and my fiance has congestive heart failure so we take that time to decompress so don't stay at best Western as they don't care about there guest
Noone was of any help at best Western
I sent a long message regarding a stay at one of the Best Western properties in Niceville, FL, to no avail, and to me, that's horrible business etiquette. It also shows me that small people like my boyfriend and I, that people like us are good to take our money from, but we aren't important enough for the respect to have my message even acknowledged.
I will try to forward my email I sent to corporate because I am sending it to the Better Business Bureau also. Thank you, and have a blessed day.

Verified ReviewerBest Western sold me a reservation for a hotel that didn’t even exist.
- - Wells, NV hotel was closed for repairs with no notice.
- - Reservations were accepted for a hotel that wasn't open.
My wife, our two small dogs, and I meticulously planned a trip from Arizona to Washington with three Best Western stops...Henderson, NV; Wells, NV; and Baker City, OR. Henderson went fine.
But in Wells, NV, disaster struck: despite having a valid confirmation number and even completing pre-check-in the day before, we arrived to find the hotel completely closed for repairs for many days already.
No notice. No warning. Nothing. Best Westerns own corporate rep was shocked, unable to reach the property, and admitted she didnt know it was shut down.
Yet Best Western still took my reservation, sent me confirmations, and let me check in online, for a hotel that wasnt even open.
Imagine checking in for a flight, printing your boarding pass, arriving at the airport, only to discover the airline no longer exists. Thats exactly what this felt like.
This isnt a small inconvenience. Its a betrayal of trust. When youre traveling long distances, especially with pets, a confirmed reservation should mean peace of mind, not the sinking feeling that your hotel may be a phantom property.
I can only hope tomorrows stop isnt another non-existent hotel.
But fellow travelers, consider this your warning: Best Westerns guarantee is not a guarantee. Proceed with extreme caution.

I have used different but Best western hotel for since 5/11 till 5/18. Hotel would do anything for this matter.
We had to call to place it and at night when I tried to sleep, I got bitten 14+ places and checked the bed. There were multiple bugs crawling and had blood when I kill them. I showed to the general manager named Joe Townsend, didnt even a word of apology. He simply changed us to the different room.
We asked what is happening next and he said nothing. He even commented that those bugs can be from us with insulting look. We requested for reimbursement He said you booked from Expedia so solve it with them.
He was definitely looking down us and not servicing us. I had spend whole weekend days resting in bed.

Verified Reviewer |I payed 140.00 a night for 3 nights. In return this lawless company believes they have the Rights to spy on me inside my room and for God's sake even watching me in the 0 privacy of my own shower.yea
- - Noises through walls and bathroom stalls all night raised privacy concerns.
- - An attendant asked how I was and smirked, appearing unprofessional.
Well, all throughout the night, all I keep hearing through the walls and even in the bathroom stall is little noises on the other side of the wall. If I would be in the main room or the bed, I would hear different noises in that room, but if I went into the bathroom, then the noises would transfer into the bathroom on the inside of the wall.
I live in a small town called Grants Pass, Oregon, where apparently the businesses here feel that they have the right to step over that line and invade people's privacy, even while they're in the bathroom naked. So I don't know if this has got to do with maybe a lone maintenance worker or the general staff all together, but today when I called and asked for some towels, the young attendant that brought me my towels asked me how I was doing today, and I said not real good. I told him that I had this eerie feeling that I've been being watched in this room. He agreed with me and said, 'Yeah, isn't that awful?' with a smirk on his face.
Unprofessional small-town drama.
These people must be so bored with their lives they have to delve into others'. Pretty sad for a corporation like Best Western not showing you a very good example here in this location.
- Rooms are clean respectful
- Major privacy issues holes and cracks and walls and bathroom area and shower yeah

Verified ReviewerUnclean hotel, poor customer service, unresponsive management
- - Leaky jetted tub; front desk did nothing.
- - Hot water took 5 minutes for Jacuzzi or shower.
- - Sink clogged; Drano used; kitchen sink worked.
We stayed in a suite with a jetted tub (jacuzzi). The faucet was very leaky.
We complained to front desk but nothing was ever done during our two night stay. Also, it took literally five minutes for the water to get hot enough to use for the jacuzzi or even a shower.
The bathroom sink was clogged. We tried to call the front desk to complain but the phone in the room didnt work. It was late, so the next morning on our way out, we went to the front desk to notify them.
Their solution was to send somebody up while we were away to pour some Drano or something in the sink. We know this because there was a white powdery substance all around the sink area. But it didnt work and the sink remained clogged for the remainder of our stay. Thankfully the sink in the suite kitchen worked.
Speaking of the kitchen, when we went to use the microwave, we found that a previous occupant had left a plate of Belgian waffles in there that the cleaning staff apparently missed.
How often do they clean the microwave? And what other stuff dont they clean?
Again, we complained to the front desk and requested to have the manager contact us directly so we could complain. Nothing was ever done and the manager never contacted me.
Hotel hot tub was warm, not even hot enough to be considered bath water. Asked front desk clerk if she could raise the temperature but she said maintenance had to do it.
That didnt happen during our two night stay so we didnt get to enjoy the hot tub.
We made these complaints and the request to talk to the manager multiple times to multiple staff members but nothing was ever done.
Their only solution was to offer us to move to a different room, which would have required us to repack everything, move, then unpack again, just for one night.
I should also mention that the free breakfast experience wasn't that great. The eggs were watery and the woman attendant spent much of her time near her Tips jar, apparently a bit upset that nobody was tipping her.

- - One of the worst Best Western hotels I’ve stayed in.
- - Staff were rude; bathroom was dirty.
- - The hotel has gone downhill; possibly new ownership.
I have been an Airbnb/VRBO host for over 6 years. I have hosted over 2200 guests in those 6 years.
I have earned SUPER HOST recognition every quarter of the past 6 years. I have to say this is one of the worst Best Western hotels I have stayed in. The staff was rude, the bathroom was dirty. It has really gone down hill in the last few years.
Maybe it is new owners. The manager is very un-professional.

Verified Reviewer |Discrimination & Mistreatment by Management
- - -The general manager was rude in the lobby.
- - -Spent over $1000; I felt disrespected.
- - -Two room changes due to secondhand smoke; my son got sick.
I came here to celebrate both my birthday and Mother's Day for 14 days with both my husband and our disabled toddler. It was one of those rare times for a mom of a special needs child to get some downtime.
I waited quietly in the front lobby with my son as my husband was busy with business. The general manager rudely asked how much longer I would be waiting in their hotel lobby. After spending over $1000, this is how my son and I are treated? Maybe because he was a little loud, as he has a condition similar to cerebral palsy.
I guess this Best Western Plus doesn't want riffraff like my son and me invading their special space. I've never been so angry with a hotel experience as this. And this is after having to change rooms twice during our stay thanks to constant weed and cigarette secondhand smoke exposure, which was making our son sick. I'm livid that I wasted my hard-earned cash to be treated so disrespectfully.
Never again will I stay at a Best Western Plus hotel after these experiences.

Unsafe Conditions & Poor Management at Best Western Bennington
- - Construction began in my wing despite assurances, with noise past 6 PM.
- - Materials left in common areas, egress blocked, and management dismissive.
I recently stayed at the Best Western Bennington and encountered significant safety and management issues that warrant attention.
Upon check-in, I was assured that no construction was taking place in my wing of the hotel. However, within minutes of settling into my room, renovation work began, including grinding floors and removing materials that may contain asbestos.
The noise persisted well past the promised 6:00 PM cutoff, continuing into the evening.
Beyond the disruption, the handling of guest safety was deeply concerning. Construction materials were left in common areas, and fire egress routes were temporarily blocked. Additionally, I observed workers grinding floors without proper safety equipment, raising serious OSHA compliance questions.
When I raised these concerns with hotel management, their response was dismissive.
Instead of addressing the safety risks and miscommunication at check-in, they suggested I stay elsewhere in the future. This lack of accountability is unacceptable for a hospitality business.
Despite efforts by local code enforcement to inspect the site, the hotel had cleaned up visible issues before their arrival, which does not negate the risks posed to guests during active construction.
.
User's recommendation: If you value safety, transparency, and a restful stay, I strongly advise against booking this hotel until management demonstrates a commitment to guest welfare and proper construction oversight

Verified ReviewerFront desk complaint
- - Front desk staff were disrespectful and rude during check-in.
- - Please address this with staff and report actions.
Dear Best Western Management,
I am writing to formally report an extremely disappointing and frustrating experience I had at your Best Western Plus Fort Worth North location at 3751 NE Loop 820, Fort Worth, TX.
During my recent visit, I was treated with blatant disrespect by the front desk staff. From the moment I arrived, their tone was unwelcoming, condescending, and frankly rude. Rather than being greeted with even basic courtesy, I was made to feel like a burden for simply checking in and asking standard questions about my reservation and amenities.
The staff member made no effort to be helpful, responded to my questions with sharp, dismissive remarks, and carried an attitude that clearly showed I was not a priority. At one point, I was even spoken over mid-sentence and made to feel like I was being unreasonable simply for expecting decent customer service. This is not what I would expect from a hotel that promotes comfort, hospitality, and professionalism.
What should have been a simple, smooth check-in process instead left me feeling frustrated, disrespected, and genuinely uncomfortable. I chose Best Western for its reputation and consistent service, but this experience has left me questioning whether that reputation is still deserved.
I'm requesting that this issue be addressed directly with the staff involved, and that proper training or accountability measures are taken to ensure that no future guest is treated this way. I would also appreciate a response from management regarding this complaint and what actions will be taken.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I hope Best Western takes this matter seriously.
