Best Western - $200 charge for 'evidence of smoking' in hotel room ** WE DON'T SMOKE**
Best Western Plus in Seminole TX. We made and paid for a reservation through Priceline.
Have stayed here previously. On our most recent stay last week, when we got home, a couple days later we noticed a $200 charge without explanation on our bank account.
I called the hotel and the Front Desk stated 'housekeeping noted there was evidence of smoking in your room and this is what we charge.' I immediately informed them WE DO NOT SMOKE! Perhaps there was a mistake? Confusing our room with someone else's?
Lots of young, male, oilfield worker types at the hotel at the same time, etc.
They refuse to remove the charge.
I have contacted our bank to dispute and am posting on social media, TripAdvisor, Expedia, etc. to STAY AWAY FROM BEST WESTERN!!!
Reason of review: FALSE CHARGE FOR SMOKING!!!.
Monetary Loss: $200.
Preferred solution: Refund of $200.
Location: 308 S Main St, Seminole, TX 79360, USA

Did your bank refund the 200.00 charge in the end?
That's just another scam that they have going to rip people off. i remember when i stayed at the Best Western in Fortuna, California it was like $88 for the room and another $100 deposit to cover lost or damaged items or smoking.
Being a very poor person, I was extremely careful with everything in the room. When I checked out, I was so glad when the lady called back and said that everything was OK.
I was scared that they would try to scam me just like you mentioned. And if they had, there would have been nothing that I could have done to get my money back, so I was greatly relieved.
They did the same thing to me! Never smoked in my life.
